I don't think this is a bad ad. I think it catches people's attention because of the important message it gets across. The picture may be a little stereotypical as it is a black person, yet it does get a point across. It uses fear, but I'm not scared. i think the main thing that causes fear in a relationship is not communicating. Obviously people who don't know where their kids are at 4 don't really keep in touch with their kids. (no offense) I'm still at school at 4 so my parents know exactly where i am.
This is message to me is both scary and sad. I don't think it's a bad ad, because it was made for a good reason. It was made to influence parents to look after their kids more. It's sad because that kid is even younger than me and his parents are already leaving him partly unprotected and open to violence. I actually think it's necessary, because it catches people's attention and makes them think about what they're doing to their kids. I think fear is necessary in these cases. A huge change can happen if only parents bring up their children in the right way. I agree with Stefan about the black child. I feel really sorry for him.
